WIP: Ren Fair - Sculpture

This is my beautiful and wonderful Ren Fair monster that I got from I named him Castor and I love him sooooo much!!!

His story has certainly been a long and VERY hard one. As you see he is rather huge for a sculpt, it took me a month to make him with all details and everything, and I was so happy when he was done! Just after I was finished I went on a trip for a week and when I got back home to finally continue with the paintwork... I found Castor lying on a tray in hundreds of pieces. My 6kg ragdoll cat had jumped up on him and smashed him flat. I cant even tell you how devastated I was. There are no words. The sculpture was crushed, the torso pressed togheter and deformed were the tin foil had given in, the legs cracked everywhere, his belly a heap of pieces from a half cm size to pieces like grains of sand. The neck was shattered, hands broken, it was barley no sculpt at all just a pile of trash. But the thing is, when something like this happen instead of seeing myself defeated and move on I get filled with this super strong determination. I refuse to give up because that is to make the thing win over  me, to loose against something else, and I WONT. HAVE. THAT!!! I sat for one week and puzzled back as many small pieces I could, over 100 tiny pieces glued. Many parts I had to sculpt anew, others I had to put a thin filter of clay over to hide the cracks. I glued and sculpted one milimeter after another and finally he was back again. And now I am so friggin proud!!! You can almost not see that he has been broken at all. I might be a good sculptor, but  I dare to say Im a hell of a awesome repairman- eeer repairwoman!

So enjoy a WIP of my Black Hole Castor! He actually has a twin that I also own (WhiteHole Pollux) wich I will sculpt in the future interacting with this lovely guy.
